WOW!!! The year is progressing along and primary elections are now behind us. We know that some of you had stiff competition in the primaries and would like all of you that are running for the 2013 or going out of office in 2013 to furnish Bill Borne with the results of the elections in your county. He will create a database and post it to the web site for viewing through the year.

It also seems impossible that next week is the Spring Conference in beautiful Harrison County. A full slate of activities has been planned and we all look forward to seeing each other there. Tuesday night will be the open night for you and any of your vendors. On Wednesday evening we will be traveling to Corydon (Indiana’s first capital) for some period activities and just plain fun.

Of Course the Hospitality room will be open during the evenings of the conference for a sip and plenty of conversation and relationship building and reinforcing! It will be in room 927 so make a mental note of that!!!

All conference materials (agenda, handouts etc) are posted to the Auditors web site for your downloading OR if you are really computer savy you can save a tree (not print off the handouts)and just access them through your computer during the conference! The Horseshoe has assured us that the conference area has WiFi connectivity.

Employer Reporting and Maintenance (ERM) is launching April 2012! Ensure you’re prepared to report wages and contributions electronically and on a payroll basis to the Indiana Public Retirement System (formerly PERF and TRF). Visit er.inprs.in.gov to make sure you will be in compliance at go-live. NEW YEAR HOUSEKEEPING

The Officers of your association hopes this communication finds you all doing well. We know all of our offices are very busy with financial rollovers, finalization of filing deductions, yearend reports AND on and on. YET there is one fiscal housekeeping item we want to remind you all about. That is your offices yearly dues to the Association.
We are striving to maintain the same level of service and keep our dues the same. The dues for 2012 are again 1.5% of your salary. There is a dues letter available Dues Letter that you can use when you turn in your claim. Thank you for your immediate attention to this important fiscal item.

Secondly,

the Association will be sending out solicitation letter to vendors for sponsorship of your Association. This contribution from vendors is extremely important in the offsetting the cost of conferences, business of running the association and items like tax preparation fees and video recording of conferences. We would appreciate names and contact information so the Association can send a letter to them giving them the opportunity to support the Auditors. You can send your suggestions directly to President Angie Lawson or Treasurer Pete Mullen
or send them through the email chain and the info will get to Angie and Pete.

OR

if you would please just send them, or hand deliver to the company represenative you know, the Vendor Letter which details all of the different levels of sponsorship and the benefits of each level. The Association has had many Auditors step up and assist in this activity and as Boone County Auditor Melody Price stated “I just hope they all come through but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask. What can they say? No? Or maybe yes! I have worked on many fundraisers over the years and have found most people are willing to help if just asked.”
